You've probably heard it - Barack Obama won the nobel peace prize.
When I first heard, I had the common reaction that so many had - I wondered what he had done to deserve it. I even told someone "I love the guy, but I don't think this has been earned... yet".
However, I heard a few people explain it in a way that made perfect sense to me.
The award, they said, is often given to acknowledge accomplishments, but other times the purpose is to spur action and build momentum behind someone who possesses good ideas. So I thought back about past winners, and decided that this was, in fact, quite a good explanation.
Naturally there are many who don't understand, and plainly hate anything Obama does/says/thinks. These are generally the same people who cheer when America falls short of goal simply because they aren't running the show.
Apple released an update to iPhone OS (now 3.1.2) to address calls being dropped. I'd actually noticed this problem on my own iPhone. However, the frequency of dropped calls was not significantly higher than the AT&T standard, so I didn't really put any blame on the iPhone. I suppose I'll check out the update and see what happens.
Terri is visiting for awhile, and we've been making it a point to visit the water...a lot. So far we've frequented Daytona Beach and Blue Springs in Orange City.

Google Sync for the first time brings PUSH GMail to the iPhone without use of 3rd party apps. Basically setting up the GMail account using Exchange protocols and treating it as an Exchange account. This is great for Iphone users who, until now, have only really had the option of Yahoo! mail.... which has supported PUSH for some time.
There currently exist a variety of third-party apps available at the 'app store' which attempt to bring PUSH/GMail together for iPhone users. Such services are, at best, not only unreliable - but risky. Funneling your data (personal e-mails in this case) through a third party is an unacceptable security risk in my eyes. That's a big sacrifice to make just to get PUSH in your inbox.
I'm glad to see Google has caught up with Yahoo in this regard, and quite frankly I'm surprised it took them this long.
I was driving the other day, when i was struck by how beautiful the road was. the colours were so crisp and the contrast was magnificent. i stuck my hand out and snapped a photo.
